Quantox

Quantox is a video game in the action genre and published by Anco Software Ltd. originally released in 1988. It is currently playable on Amiga.

The kingdom of the warrior queen of Quantox is under attack by enemy hordes. You can only win if you defeat the 32 waves of attack to bring peace to your land.

Quantox is a multi-directional shooter game that takes place in a rectangular arena. There are six entrances to the arena, which spit out waves of enemies that the player has to destroy with his spaceship. The player's shots bounce off the arena walls, but only travel for a set amount of time before disappearing. Once an enemy has been hit, it can be destroyed by ramming it. If the player is not fast enough, the attacking enemy reverts to its initial state and is now harder to make vulnerable and gains additional speed.

From time to time, special power-ups appear in the arena. Some of them have a positive effect, such as a longer weapon range or a stronger shield. After completing some levels, there are mini-games with which the player can earn credits that can be exchanged for better weapons in a store.
