Spider Fighter is a video game in the action genre developed by Activision, Inc. and published by Activision, Inc. originally released in 1983. It is currently playable on Atari 2600.
Spider Fighter is an arcade-style action game, somewhat similar to 'Space Invaders'. The player controls the insect blaster at the bottom of the screen and must protect the three fruits in the upper right corner of the screen. The different types of attacking spiders fly at high speed, trying to destroy the blaster and steal the fruits. The game ends when all fruits are stolen or the player loses all insect blasters. When all spiders in a round are destroyed, the player moves on to the next fast round. If there are still all three fruits left at the end of the round, the player will receive an extra insect blaster.
